Rail Breaks

Rail breaks

Discover awe-inspiring scenery, breathtaking natural wonders and Europe's most famous cities with Treyn Holidays. From the bright lights of Paris to the untouched wilderness of Scotland's Highlands, our wide range of rail breaks introduce guests to iconic sights and undiscovered gems in over 40 countries. We offer single destination and multi-centre rail breaks which allow you to visit more than one country on one break, thanks to the speed, ease and convenience of travelling by train. As you journey to and from each destination on your rail break you will be able to admire vast stretches of a country's landscape, from the tangled vineyards of France to the beautiful remoteness of the Swiss Alps. All of Treyn's rail breaks include all travel and accommodation as well as a selection of excursions and meals, which means that you will have little extra to pay whilst you are away. A Tour Manager also escorts all of our rail breaks, making sure that everything is taken care of so that you can simply relax and look forward to the next destination or excursion. Their role includes making sure that everyone arrives at the right platform on time to sharing their knowledge of the places that you visit and answering any questions that you may have during your rail break.

What’s Included on our Rail Breaks

All of the excursions that are included on our holidays have been carefully selected by our experienced tour operators to ensure that you see the best sights in every destination that you visit during your rail break. This varies from the spectacular architecture in Venice to the renowned beauty of the French Alps. There will also be plenty of opportunities to experience the culture of the places that you visit. Of course the many historical sights are also visited on our rail breaks including ancient Roman monuments, palaces, religious temples and many museums. More unique examples of activities on our rail breaks include visiting the Christmas markets of Prague and city tours. A local guide may also join your Tour Manager on selected excursions to bring their in-depth knowledge of the local area and culture to the experience. The highlight of many of our guests' rail breaks, however, are their journeys on heritage or narrow-gauge railways, which give you the opportunity to see spectacular scenery that is often unreachable by other means of transport. From the dramatic beauty of the Yorkshire Moors to the pristine valleys and glaciers of Switzerland, some of the world's greatest natural treasures can be seen by rail.

All the included excursions are also optional so you are free to participate only when you wish. There is also plenty of free time included in the itineraries of our rail breaks so that you can revisit sights that you have seen previously, explore independently or relax and enjoy the amenities of your hotel. All accommodation that is used on Treyn rail breaks is selected because it offers good value, excellent service and is in a good location. If you are going to be staying in a destination for more than one night we will normally choose a centrally located hotel that is close to all of the main attractions in the area. Treyn also use local family run businesses whenever possible because we feel that they provide a more inviting atmosphere and offer guests a better taste of the local culture.
