Austria & Bavaria All Inclusive 2014

On this all-inclusive holiday we enjoy a fantastic excursion to Innsbruck - the capital of the Tyrol, take a guided tour of Neuschwanstein Castle and travel on the superb Zillertalbahn Railway to Mayrhofen.

    We depart St Pancras International by Eurostar to Brussels, where we change trains. We continue to Cologne, where we board our final train to Frankfurt. On arrival in Frankfurt we check into the 3* Intercity Hotel for an overnight stay. On Day 2 we continue our rail journey, travelling via Rosenheim to the riverside town of Telfs. The small town of Telfs, surrounded by mountains and wooded hillsides, overlooks the River Inn, approximately 12 miles (20km) upstream of Innsbruck. We check in to the 3* Hotel Munde in Telfs.

  • Day 3 - At leisure in the Austrian Tyrol


    Today you are free to explore the region at leisure. You could travel to Seefeld, one of the Tyrol's premier resort towns. Set on a verdant plateau amongst Alpine peaks, Seefeld offers a variety of walks, ranging from gentle strolls through to hiking trails into the mountains. Alternatively, you could travel to the famous winter resort of St Anton, where you can venture high into the mountains by cable car.

  • Day 4 - Innsbruck


    This morning we take a train to Innsbruck, the capital of the Tyrol region. Your time here is free to discover the city at your own pace. The delightful city has a beautiful Old Town that is part of a generous pedestrianised area, which makes Innsbruck ideal for exploring on foot.

  • Days 5-6 - Neuschwanstein and at leisure

    Neuschwanstein Castle

    Today we travel by coach through the foothills of the German and Austrian Alps to Neuschwanstein Castle, arguably Europe's most beautiful castle. We take in the opulence of this awe-inspiring palace, with its sumptuous wood carvings, beautiful chandeliers and lavish paintings which adorn the majestic rooms. On Day 6 you have a free day to explore at leisure.

  • Day 7 - Zillertalbahn


    On today's full-day excursion we travel by train to Jenbach, where we join the narrow-gauge Zillertalbahn Railway. Travelling in beautifully restored fourwheeled carriages, we enjoy a 19 mile (31 kilometres) steam-hauled journey through the dramatic Ziller Valley. Our route takes us to picturesque Mayrhofen at the head of the valley. Here you are free to explore its cobbled streets lined with inviting restaurants, unique shops and pretty pavement cafés.

  • Days 8-9 - To Mannheim and London

    Mannheim Palace

    We leave Telfs today travelling by train directly to Mannheim, following a scenic route through the Arlberg Pass and along the shore of Lake Constance. We spend the final night of our holiday at the 3* Intercity Hotel. On Day 9 we continue by train via Cologne to Brussels, where we board the Eurostar to St Pancras International in London.
