Lake Lucerne is the fourth largest lake in Switzerland with much of its shoreline comprised of towering mountains that rise directly out of the lake. Lucerne is a fascinating city located on the lakeside and has plenty of interesting sights for you to explore in your free time, such as the famous Lion Monument and the extraordinary Chapel Bridge made from wood. During your time at Lake Lucerne during Christmas time you can enjoy spectacular views across the lake and beyond.

One of the highlights of the tour is a day on board the Glacier Express, which journeys across the Alps through scenic valleys, charming meadows and delightful towns. Relax in comfort as you gaze at magnificent views from your carriage window. The Glacier Express travels through Switzerland from Chur and climbs the Oberalp Pass before descending in to Andermatt. The train has panorama carriages for great views of the passing scenery and also a restaurant car.
