Travelling by rail is one of the most civilised and romantic means of travel. Relax from the comfort of your seat and watch the beautiful scenery unfold before your eyes on one of Treyn Holidays' tours. Each of our rail holidays has its highlights such as the spectacular Landwasser Viaduct on the Glacier Express route or the beautiful views of the Rhine Gorge when travelling on the EuroCity train.

Further details of the trains featured on this tour are listed below.

Germany's Deutsche Bahn CityNightLine sleepers connect German cities with Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands. They usually have a restaurant and bar service. All cabins have a washbasin and there is a WC and sometimes shower facilities at the end of the carriage.

Tours begin on sleek Eurostar services departing from London's gloriously restored St Pancras International station. Travelling on high-speed lines in the UK and on the Continent, Eurostar speeds us through the Channel Tunnel to Lille, Paris or Brussels to meet our European connections.

Upgrades

Whether it is arranging an upgrade on Eurostar, a hotel in London the night before you depart or your rail travel from your local station to your departure point, we can help you make even more of your holiday with our selection of upgrades.

Extend your European holiday
Extend your European rail holiday

For our tours that pass through Paris or Brussels before they return to London, you can extend your holiday and enjoy a night or two in one of these attractive cities. We can arrange accommodation in a centrally located hotel (prices on request).

Eurostar Upgrade
Eurostar Upgrade

When you settle into your reserved seat on board the high-speed Eurostar train, your holiday has already begun. Should you wish, we will be pleased to arrange for you to be upgraded to Standard Premier Class. Prices for an upgrade begin at £170 return (£85 each way) for all tours departing in 2013. Please call us for more details.

UK rail connections
UK rail connections

We appreciate that many of our customers travel from a variety of places in the UK to St Pancras International in London to join our tours. Buying tickets for UK train services can be a tricky business - there are so many fares to choose from, each with different rules and restrictions.

At Treyn Holidays we can book special fares issued in conjunction with your tour. The prices are competitive and tickets are not restricted to a particular train or time of day, and in most cases offer you a free choice of routes.

The cost of return rail travel to London is based on your county of departure. Details may be found on the map found in the 'Add-ons' section. Prices to a non-London joining point (eg Glasgow, Kingussie, Edinburgh, Harrogate, Stratford-upon-Avon) and prices for First Class travel are also available - please ask us for a quotation.

London hotels
Book your London hotel with Great Rail Journeys

As our tours generally commence at St Pancras International during the morning of the first day (or at Heathrow Airport , for holidays beginning with a flight), it is often more convenient to make your way to London the previous day, so you are fresh and rested before joining your tour.

Perhaps on your return to London, you would like to break your journey with an overnight stay before continuing home. Alternatively, you may simply wish to enjoy London's many attractions, activities and entertainment options... the theatres, the museums, the parks and the shops are all waiting to be explored!

Whatever your reasons, why not take a little time before or after your Treyn Holidays tour to see what the UK's capital city has to offer? We can book a wide range of hotels in central London or at Heathrow Airport for the night before or after your holiday. Please ask for prices and details.

Door to door luggage from £130

Whether as an added luxury, or essential to your enjoyment of the tour, door-to-door luggage collection and delivery services can really enhance your holiday experience. Travelling across Europe by train is so much more relaxing without the burden of your suitcase, and we can help arrange for your case to be collected from home prior to the holiday and for it to be waiting for you at your first main hotel in Europe.

We are pleased to recommend the services of the Baggage Man, who offers luggage transport from as little as £130.

Please contact us for details of this service.
