Day 1 - London to Remagen
We depart from St Pancras International by Eurostar to Brussels, where we change trains and continue to Cologne. Here we join the service to Remagen, where we stay tonight at the welcoming 3* Hotel Pinger.
Day 2 - To the Tyrol
Today we continue our journey by train, and travel along the scenic Rhine Gorge to Rosenheim. From here we enjoy a journey through picturesque landscapes to Telfs in the Austrian Tyrol. We stay in Telfs for five nights at the inviting 3* Hotel Munde.
Day 3 - Innsbruck
This morning we take the train to the imperial city of Innsbruck, the capital of the Tyrol. Your time here is free to explore. The Golden Roof, with its ornate gold-plated tiles, is arguably the city's highlight. The roof was built for Emperor Maximilian I, as was the grand Imperial Palace, which is also well worth a visit. Other key sights include the pretty Old Town and the historic 15th century City Tower.
Day 4 - At leisure in Telfs
Today is free for you to spend as you wish. Perhaps relax at the hotel, or explore Telfs further. Alternatively, you could go to the popular resort of St. Anton. Here you can stroll around the pretty town, or take one of the cable cars up to the Tyrolean Alps.
Day 5 - Seefeld
This morning we travel by coach to Seefeld. Set on a verdant plateau amongst Alpine peaks, Seefeld is one of the Tyrol's premier resort towns. Here we enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride through the wintry countryside, followed by time to explore the pretty town centre. We then return by coach to Telfs for dinner.
Day 6 - The Zillertalbahn
Today's excursion takes us to Jenbach, where we join the Zillertalbahn for a superb journey through the dramatic Ziller Valley, past pretty villages to picturesque Mayrhofen, a popular tourist destination throughout the year. Here you are free to explore. You may choose to stroll along the cobbled streets, lined with shops, restaurants and pretty pavement cafés, or take a cable car into the mountains, before our return journey retracing our route.
Day 7 - Back to Remagen
We depart Telfs by rail today, travelling northwards over the German border on the convenient and scenic direct service to Remagen, for another overnight stay at the 3* Hotel Pinger.
Days 8 - Homeward bound
We depart by train for Cologne, where we join the service to Brussels. Here we connect with the Eurostar to St Pancras International in London.
